They expertly navigated the rough waters of a difficult and lengthy lawsuit -- all the way up through trial preparations -- and negotiated an out-of-court settlement to the satisfaction of both parties. They brilliantly researched and applied a little-known clause in the Servicemember Civil Relief Act to my case, which was unprecedented, significantly extending the statute of limitations and allowing my lawsuit to continue. Other military members then derived benefit from this clause in their cases, from what I understand.

Their team -- I primarily worked with Ryan, Devin, Lisa, and Irwin -- is spectacular. Their compassion, empathy, and professionalism substantially comforted me through arduous and punishing depositions and negotiations. The receptionist was quite personable. She remembered my name every time I called. And she gave me hope. It took 3 weeks of me calling for an attorney to return my call. My question is, The Zalkin Firm is supposed to be so GRAND yet I have no knowledge of the firm attempting to write a Bill to propose the dismantling of SOF's. I'm sure that there is some kind of legality behind their decision, but a firm of this magnitude, with all the blogging they do - 1 article, 1 concern, 1 attempt, in the current climate of the world, should target SOF's!!!

Thank you for your comment. We assume you mean Statute of Limitations reform when you say "SOFs". In that regard our firm has supported this reform in states across the country, supporting California's new reform under AB 218 and the Child Victims Act in the State of New York. We offer our clients guidance about the SOL reform laws in relation to their cases. AB 218 is highlighted on the homepage of our website. Our firm has a long history of supporting SOL reform. In 2012 our firm wrote SB 131 for California State Senator Jim Beall who introduced the Bill to amend the California Code of Civil Procedure 340.1 the child sexual abuse statute of limitations. Mr. Zalkin testified before several legislative committees in support of the SB 131. The Bill passed both houses of the California Legislature but was vetoed by Governor Brown. Thankfully California now has AB 218 which was signed by Governor Newsome on October 13th.
