Called to get some help & immediately felt like I was being treated poorly! No professionalism whatsoever! The lady who I had spoken with had no empathy & I didn't even get a full two sentences out before feeling stupid! Once I stated that I didn't like how she was talking to me she changed her whole demeanor! I'm dealing with a lot already & asking for answers & help but to have someone not sincerely wanting to isn't where I want to spend my hard earned money! Please take this review into consideration for your own or your loved ones sake!

I am a criminal defense attorney. In that capacity, I provide free consultations for people who are inquiring about criminal charges filed either against themselves or someone close to them. However, before I can help, I must know the answer to two questions. First, I must know the nature of the case you are calling about--criminal or civil. Civil cases, such as family law, lawsuits of any kind, landlord tenant, business disputes etc., are outside of my practice area. The second concerns the nature of the charges. I cannot begin to advise you on the law or the consequences of a violation unless I know what the charges are. I ask those two questions before you tell me what happened, because again, I cannot help unless you are calling about a criminal matter and I know what the charges are. I asked Ms. Kaye the first question and she said criminal. But when I asked her the second question, she blew up. When I said "Look I am trying to help you," her response was "I'm going to write you a bad review." And then hung up. I understand that Ms. Kaye was distraught. Facing criminal charges is painful, whether it is your own pain or that of someone close to you. It hurts everyone connected. And for that I feel bad for Ms. Kaye and wish her nothing but a good outcome for her situation.

More About Law Office of Roberta Brooks

When you hire a criminal defense attorney, you want someone who understands how the police think as they are investigating a crime. Police reports tell an experienced investigator almost as much by what they don't say as what they do. Knowing where to question and where to look can make a great difference in the outcome of your case.

Attorney Roberta Brooks worked as a Field Examiner with the National Labor Relations Board, investigating charges of unfair labor practices and later as a police officer. She understands how a police report is put together, because she has done it. She has honed her skills at reading police reports and other investigation documents over the years in the hundreds of criminal defense cases she has handled, and she uses that ability to develop compelling cases for her clients.
