About Boyd & Karver

Boyd and Karver was founded in 1976 by Craig S. Boyd as a sole proprietorship.  Craig was a 1974 graduate of the University of Notre Dame School of Law and had been practicing law in Boyertown in the office of E. Kenneth Nyce since 1974.  From the beginning, the firm engaged in general practice of law.  Jeffrey C. Karver worked with Craig in the summers of 1978 and 1979 and joined the firm as an associate in 1980.  The two formed a partnership in 1984 and continued to practice together as a two person firm until Craig's son Jeffrey R. Boyd joined the firm in 2002.   After Craig's retirement in 2006, Jeff Karver and Jeff Boyd continued the practice in the name of Boyd & Karver.  Attorneys, Matt Doll and Tina Boyd, joined the firm in the years since 2006 and today the firm consists of two partners, two associates  and seven paralegal or secretarial staff members.



The varied backgrounds of the four attorneys, allows the firm to continue to offer a full range of legal services, with each attorney bringing some different experience or ability to the table.  Jeff Karver handles most of the business law matters, most of the real estate matters (including zoning and subdivision work), and much of the wills and estates practice.  Jeff and Tina Boyd handle the bulk of the family law practice, and Jeff also handles criminal matters, and a growing wills and estate practice.  Matt Doll handles most of the firm's criminal matters as well as some family law matters.  The firm is capable of handling most of your civil and criminal legal issues.  With its small town background, we recognize the financial limitations of many of our clients, and make a concerted effort to resolve all cases at the earliest opportunity in order to minimize the expense to our clients.  If necessary, however, we are prepared to take your case to trial.   The firm has recently won a full judgment for its client in a civil jury trial in Carbon County, and has successfully defended a criminal jury trial in Chester County.  If you need a lawyer in Berks County, Montgomery County, Chester County or Lehigh County, call us for consultation.
